Centenary Fields
Fields in Trust’s Centenary Fields initiative (, in partnership with The Royal British Legion, has seen landowners working with Field sin Trust to protect sites with a tangible link to The Great War. The UK-wide project, running concurrently with the 100th anniversary of World War I has seen landowners protect flagship memorial parks, gardens of remembrance, memorial orchards or any green space that has a tangible link that the community value. As with all of Field sin Trust’s protection, ownership, management and maintenance stays with the landowner. The deadline for applications for this not-to-be-repeated commemoration project is Armistice 2018.

Active Spaces
Fields in Trust’s Active Spaces project (, in partnership with The London Marathon Charitable Trust is engaging with local projects getting communities active on green spaces. By agreeing to protect a green space that will host new, or planned physical activity projects, landowners will receive £5,000, subject to a successful application, for the project. Time is limited, so please check out the link and contact your Fields in Trust Development Manager if you have any questions, or would like to apply. The deadline for applications is 27th April 2018, with projects to be delivered by September 2018.

UK’s Best Park – As voted by you

Nominate your favourite local green space as UK’s Best Park.

Do you think that your local park is the best in the country? Here’s your chance to tell others; national charity Fields in Trust are encouraging people to nominate their favourite local green space for the UK’s Best Park as voted by YOU! Award. Nominations are now open with public voting from 14th October. Visit the Fields in Trust website

When the CCPFA re-launched in November 2015 one of the topics needing urgent review was the need to ensure the organisation was properly funded and sustainable. In order to address this issue and after consultation and research, the Trustees have decided that membership for the coming year will be based on donations.

Over the last 18 months the CCPFA has:

Provided 10 training workshops
engaged with 25 organisations and 59 individual Trustees and Committee Members
Hosted 2 networking events
Supported 6 playing fields
Set up a website and  Twitter account
Set up a support network
Sent regular newsletters
Become a Charitable incorporated organisation
Engaged with 4 new Trustees

Any community organisation in Cornwall with an interest in recreation is eligible to join. The benefits to members are the services provided by the CCPFA, plus the option of becoming involved in managing the Charity by attending the AGM and nominating Trustees. If you have benefited from free CCPFA  membership in the past or you feel it is vital that an organisation such as ourselves continues to exist and protect our open spaces for the future, then please help by making a membership donation.   Individuals and organisations making donations will be entered onto our new database and will continue to receive regular updates and  benefit from our services.

If you have any suggestions regarding  additional help that you would like the CCPFA to consider providing for its members, we would be delighted to hear from you.
